Teens of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. work with 1000 community children

Jack and Jill of America, Inc., is a membership organization of mothers with children ages 2 – 19, dedicated to nurturing future African American leaders by strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty. Jack and Jill has more than 230 chapters nationwide, representing more than 40,000 family members. Each chapter plans annual programming activities guided under a national theme. The Mid-Western Region is one of the 7 regions of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and has 34 of the 230 nationwide chapters covering 8 states (IL, IN, KY, MI, MO, MN, OH, WI), 1300 families, 1100 children and 900 teens. Through service projects, Jack and Jill of America, Inc. creates a medium of contact for children to stimulate their growth and development.

Four chapters in our region have been awarded funding to create a reading corner in their communities. Please congratulate the Lakeshore, Toledo, North Oakland / MaComb, and Oakland County Chapters. We look forward to hearing more about their projects and featuring them on our regional websites.
